"Tomas has been our family's teacher for more than 6 years, since my son was 5. Under his patient, expert, and enthusiastic guidance, our son has gained not only musical skill, but also the ability to stick with a task and feel pride in his accomplishments. Tomas's passion for guitar—and specifically Suzuki guitar— shines through in every lesson, which has helped to instill a love of the instrument in our family. As we continue to progress, Tomas's enthusiasm, along with his careful attention to every detail of playing, inspires us both to practice and master the music in the program. We can't imagine learning guitar from anyone else!"
"Tomas has been teaching my two kids for the past 11 years, starting when the younger one was 3 years old. Although we had started with only my older child, Tomas recognized that my younger one had the interest and patience to start guitar when he started watching and then copying the Suzuki practice routines—Tomas embraced that enthusiasm and a second guitarist was born. Both of my children started with the Suzuki method, which was wonderful for them when they were young. Tomas (and by extension, me as the home teacher) blended lessons and practice with games to keep the kids entertained and engaged, even if it might only be in very short bursts when they were very young.
"One child has since shifted to electric guitar and continues to work with Tomas, learning African and classic R&B guitar styles. The other continues with classical guitar (he is on Suzuki Book 6), while nurturing a budding interest in Spanish and Latin American guitar. His lessons blend Suzuki and non-Suzuki pieces.
Tomas is an accomplished guitarist who plays a multitude of styles. He has supported my children to love playing music so much that they grab their guitars and play many times each day—sometimes a proper practice session, sometimes just to pick around and perhaps compose a line. Coming from a family where neither parent can claim to be a musician, that says a lot!"
